Achieving Optimum Health Through Ayurveda

What is the one system of medication that does not have side effects but affects life in a positive always?

It could ONLY be AYURVEDA! Because it’s only here that you get to formulate an individualized system of medication totally based on the innate characteristics of a person through their “Doshas”! The system of medication in Ayurveda is based on a holistic approach which takes into account everything that is essential to life including food, exercise and medication, which by the way is what we too stress upon at Recova Life!

Why Ayurveda?

Because it has successfully existed and grown for over 5000 years and is today recognized worldwide for its healing properties! The word Ayurveda itself is the coming together of two elements which describe wholesome life i.e., “Ayush” which means “longevity” and “Veda” which is Sanskrit for “knowledge”!

With its roots which tell us to live within the confines of nature, it tells us to be one with the surroundings and live life in its most natural form. In doing so, it helps us

–       Remain calm in all worldly situations
–       Work towards finding solutions to heal ourselves!

What are the advantages of Ayurveda?
From extensive experience of treating my patients using Ayurveda, I can tell you of its advantages to life.

Besides making your life better in an overall sense, it specifically helps in the following ways:

A system of root-cause analysis and actions arising therefrom
Ayurveda does not treat symptoms but uses the same to understand where the problem originates from and treat the same likewise. It is thus a prevention-based system of medication. While bringing out the reason for a particular problem, it tells you ways to boost immunity and reduce stresses to the self – reason in most causes for “dosha” imbalances.

A system of diet which goes beyond simply eating to satisfy a craving
As per Ayurveda, there is a fire in every being and a part of that is to do with the digestion of foods. Eating is thus NOT about satisfying a craving but to satisfy the digestive fires which keeps us alive the way we are. No doubt food should have tastes and texture which satisfy sensorial matters BUT it should primarily be dosha-ordained, balanced and season + activity specific.

Following an order, a routine
Dinchary, Sanskrit for the daily routine is of great importance in Ayurveda, and through it, to life. It gives you a reason, a path and something to focus your energy on, from the start of the day. In Ayurveda, a daily routine should have elements of exercise, meditation and a healthy diet to make life meaningful- on a daily basis!

Nidra, the time of rest and recuperate
With activity increasing and life running short of time, one thing gets lost. Sleep. And with that goes a lot. In fact, most of life’s challenges have a direct bearing on sleep and rest. In Ayurveda you find ways to do things when awake such that it induces fitful and life-enhancing sleep.

Yoga, the Ayurvedic form of exercise and exertion!
Ayurvedic precepts are very clear about the fact that not much can be achieved where one does not exert oneself physically. Good food, good thoughts, good sleep are fine. But if the element of exercise and strength-building is not added therein, not much can be achieved because with exercise you build physical strength, character and even basics like hunger and the need to rest!

Looking good with Ayurveda!
Giving a meaning to life is important. And if it comes from looking good, why not! Ayurveda, with its emphasis on nature and things natural which includes a whole treasure-trove of herbs greatly helps its users look good in every season irrespective of body types and doshas. And looking good here does not mean layering one-self with tons of make-up but under medical guidance understanding one’s innate physicality and taking the right steps- including precautions!

From my years spent treating people using Ayurveda, I know one thing for a fact. No two cases can ever be the same as far as treatment goes. And thanks to Ayurveda, we can go deep, deep into a problem and pinpoint the reason and find permanent solutions!
